2016 was a year of change for the Friends of the Brooks Library, as we bid farewell to several long time members of the board. I was distraught at the time, as I was a relatively new board member who had been sitting in the president's chair for a very short time. As with most every tragedy, after a bit you look back and realize that things happen, and you make the most out of it. While we will miss our friends, we did find some new ones who wanted to sit on the board. Along with these new friends came a spark that reignited the fire that Dr. Brooks had started when the Friends were revitalized in 1995. Expect to see great things from the Friends of the Library, the "FOL", in 2017. You will be able to keep tabs on us throughout the year through this website, and in the "Notes from the Stacks" newsletter. We welcome your involvement. Join us in helping the library stay a vital part of this institution, and to keep growing along with the ever-changing world we live in. The Brooks Library is a very cool place. Dean Cutright, along with her amazing staff, are constantly finding better ways to keep on the cutting edge, and at the same time make the library an enjoyable environment for everyone. Come see for yourself.
